We’d like to inform you all that we experienced a peculiar power surge on Monday night (Feb. 7) which was repaired about 6 hours after it occurred by Northeast Utilities. In the process, some equipment in the building was permanently damaged, including an electric motor in a large air handler for the cafe space, an electric water pump in the boiler room which in turn caused a heating coil in another air handler to freeze and pop. The surge also damaged the walk-in freezer, one computer, and part of the phone system. We may find more as we continue the research. In the meantime, we are compiling thousands of dol- lars worth of repairs in hopes that insurance will take care of most of it even with the high deductible of $2500. We will keep you posted on the process. If you have any questions or feel you can offer support, please contact David.
