Newman Giving Garden

This summer the students and families involved with our religious education program continue their connection to serving the community by planting, tending, and harvesting from our “Giving Garden,” a garden in Hadley from which all vegetables will be donated to the Amherst Survival Center in North Amherst.

We invite the entire Newman Community to participate. To help make this project happen, we seek some garden tools such as hoes, shovels, and rakes. We ask that you look around your homes and garages and contact Jack Czajkowski (jackczajkowski@gmail.com) if you have a tool we can use.

Most importantly, we are looking for help to make the New- man Giving Garden grow! Beginning in early May and growing until mid-September, we seek Newman community members who will commit to helping with planting, weeding and harvesting. Families and friends of the Newman Center can contact Jo-Ann Knoieczny (jmkonieczny@charter.net) to sign up by weeks to help out. We are looking for at least two people/families to sign up for each week. The garden will be lo- cated at 334 River Dr (Route 47) in North Hadley.
